Daniel B. Hall

Daniel B. Hall, age 82 of Nisland, died Tuesday April 5th, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. The memorial service will be held 11am Saturday April 9th, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church in Newell. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place 9am Monday at Black Hills National Cemetery, near Sturgis, with Military Honors provided by the Sturgis Honor Guard. Funeral arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Daniel B. Hall was born January 31, 1929 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was the son of William and “Nellie” Hazel (Richards) Hall. At the age of 4, Daniel moved with his family to Lead where he grew up and attended school. During the Korean War, Daniel served his country in the U.S. Army. During most of his service he was stationed in Germany. On July 24, 1955, Daniel was united in marriage to Kay Geisner, in Lead. To this union, four children were born: Daniel, Lonnie, Bonnie, and Konnie. Following their marriage, Dan and Kay lived in Lead for many years where Dan worked for Black Hills Power, at the Kirk Plant. In 1991, they retired to Nisland, where they have lived since. Dan had hobbies that included wood working, fishing, and reading. He also loved to travel with Kay and the family, always wanting to know what was over the next mountain. Dan had a deep love for his wife and children, and many grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Daniel is survived by his wife Kay of Nisland; sons, Daniel (Kim) Hall of Paulden AZ, Lonnie Hall of Hill City; daughters, Bonnie Hall of Sturgis, Konnie (Steven) Hall – Grass of Spearfish; 4 grandchildren, Mary and Andrew Chesmore, Dani Hall, and Johni Grass; 3 step-grandchildren, Jimmy, Erin, and Josh; 2 great grandchildren, Quintin Hall and Lainee VanKampen; 4 step-great grandchildren, Taylor, Addison, Kadynn, and Alivia. He was also survived by his brothers, Wendall Hall of Rapid City, Bernard (Della) Hall of Sommerset; and his sisters, Virginia (Leon) Fuller of Commerce TX, and Bargy Hall of Nisland; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William Hall. May God Bless the Memory of Daniel B. Hall.
