Joyce Avey

Joyce Avey, age 58 of Belle Fourche, died Saturday October 22nd, 2011 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City. The memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday October 27th, 2011 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. There will be no visitation. Joyce Ann Helman, was born May 12, 1953 in Piqua, Ohio. She was the daughter of Leroy and Sarah (Hobbs) Helman. Joyce grew up in St. Paris and Sidney, Ohio. In 1996 she moved to Florida where she lived until 2004 when she returned to St. Paris. In 2007, Joyce moved to Belle Fourche, where she has lived since. During this time, Joyce has worked as the manager of the Super 8 Hotel in Belle Fourche. Joyce will be remembered for her hard work and the love she had for her children. She raised her four children on her own, and always had a clean house and supper on the table for the family. She will be greatly missed. Joyce is survived by her daughters, Mindy Hill of Belle Fourche, Wendy Hill - Loney of St. Paris OH, Amber (Dave) Darnell of Sidney OH; son, Chad Kerg of Belle Fourche; 3 brothers, Leroy (Rita) Helman of Cleveland OH, Emerson (Patty) Helman of Troy OH, Thomas Helman of Indianapolis IN; 2 sisters, Shirley Vogler of Troy OH, Linda (John) Singleton of Las Vegas NV; 16 grandchildren; and her “adopted” son and his family, Thomas (Christine) Williams.
