** TO VIEW THE VIDEO TRIBUTE CLICK ON THE WEBLINK ABOVE **Agnes Garcia, age 86 of Nisland, died Sunday April 15th, 2012 at the Belle Fourche Senior Care Center. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Saturday April 21st, 2012 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Belle Fourche.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. Funeral arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Catholic Church. Agnes Margaret Rising was born July 27, 1925 in Beach, North Dakota.  She was the daughter of Henry D. and Margaret (Kramers) Rising.  Agnes grew up on a family farm near Golva and Beach North Dakota.  She graduated from Golva High School in 1943.  During her high school years, Agnes enjoyed being part of the girls basketball team.  In 1943 Agnes was united in marriage to Thomas E. Wilbur in Bismarck, North Dakota.  To this union, four children were born: Margaret, Thelma, Wilhelm, and Victoria.  Following their marriage, Agnes and Thomas worked on area ranches and homesteaded a place near Tinton.  For 3 years, Agnes worked as an Assayer for the D.A. Farricks Mining Company in Deadwood.  In 1964 the family moved to Belle Fourche.  Agnes and Thomas later divorced.  For many years, Agnes worked as a nurse’s aid at the Don Pratt Manor and the John Burns Hospital in Belle Fourche.  In 1971, Agnes was married to Pat Garcia in Belle Fourche.  Following their marriage they moved to Nisland where she lived for several years.  Pat died in 1975.  In 1987, Agnes retired from her work at the hospital and the nursing home, after more than 20 years of working there. Agnes will be remembered for her love of animals, especially horses.  Her favorite horse was Rosy.  Agnes was a member of the Bit and Spur Saddle Club, and she enjoyed taking trail rides and wagon trains.  Agnes helped with night lambing, and she raised many bum lambs.  Agnes also loved her church very much. Agnes is survived by her children, Margaret Rauth of Rapid City, Thelma (Ken) Carter of Hulett WY, Victoria Johnson of Reno NV; Wilhelm “Willie” (Carol) Wilbur of Belle Fourche; 9 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Frank and Anton Rising.
