** CLICK ON WEBLINK ABOVE TO VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE **Jack V. Church, age 67 of Belle Fourche, died Monday October 8, 2012 at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center. The funeral service will be held 10:30 am Friday October 12th, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be held 12 to 7 pm Thursday, with the family present from 5 to 7pm, at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. There will be a public prayer service at 6pm. Interment will take place in the Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fourche, with Military Honors presented by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials are preferred to the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard. These funds will be used to help fund the Pine Slope Memorial Services Building. Jackie Vern Church was born November 17, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas. He was the son of Marvin and LelaMae (Riggs) Church. At the age of 16, Jack left Wichita and joined the U.S. Navy. Jack made a career in the Navy, retiring in 1983. On July 1, 1987 Jack moved to Belle Fourche SD where he worked as a dispatcher. From 1990 to 2002 he worked as the Butte County Emergency Manager. Jack also worked as the Butte County Veterans Service Officer, the 911 coordinator, planning and zoning director, and safety officer. Jack is survived by his brothers, Eddie, Tommy, and Jimmy, all of Kansas; several nieces and nephews; and his special adopted family, Frances Cleveland of Belle Fourche, Bill and Becky Cleveland and their children, Hannah, Leah, William of Rochester, MN; and Rick and Sharon Stadick of Sheridan WY. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; and step-mother, Flossie.
