** Click on weblink above to view video tribute ** Natalia Garza-Mitchell, age 88 of Belle Fourche, died Tuesday October 9th, 2012 at the Belle Fourche Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Monday October 15th, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be 2 to 6pm Sunday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. A Wake Service will be held 7pm Sunday at the church. Interment will be held in Pine Slope Cemetery, Belle Fourche. Natalia Reyes was born June 12, 1924 in Hondo, Texas. She was the daughter of Bernardo and Lucia (Flores) Reyes. Natalia grew up with 5 brothers and 1 sister in San Angelo, Texas, where she attended a Catholic school. In 1942 Natalia was married to Crespin Garza in El Dorado, Texas. To this union, 6 children were born: Crespin Jr., Lupe, Juanita, Joe, Amadieo, and Martin. Following their marriage, Natalia and Crespin lived in Sonora, Texas. In 1972 they moved to Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Crespin died in 1991. Natalia was married to Edwin Mitchell in 1996, and the following year Edwin died. Natalia devoted her life to her family. She was proud to have been able to stay home and raise all her children because she loved them so much. She was a great woman and was known for her hospitality. She helped anyone who needed it, and provided many meals throughout her life. Natalia was known as “Grandma Garza” to many people. She babysat kids all the time for many years. She was a great cook and she loved her many pets and all the animals she raised. Natalia enjoyed going to Deadwood, shopping at garage sales, and volunteering her time. For 30 years she volunteered for the Community Action Team in Belle Fourche. Natalia had a big heart and was loved by many people. She will be watching over all of them now and she will be missed greatly. Natalia is survived by her sons, Lupe Garza of Belle Fourche, Joe (Deb) Garza of Reder, ND; daughter, Juanita (Toby) Hurley of Baker MT; step-daughter, Muriel Bear of Fruitdale; 27 grandchildren, Delia, Adrian, Aldo, Lisa, Raymond, Roman, Marty, Angie, Kristina, Tera, Melissa, Merisha, Jessica, Zachary, Crespin, Robbie, Chavel, Roy, Roberto, Johnny, Olga, Mona, Marggie, Marcus, Nick, Scott, Derek; 25 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Rosie Tichi, Josie Rodriguez, Teri Nelson, Tina Blakeman, and the late Bruce Ottre. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Crespin Garza and Edwin Mitchell; 3 sons, Crespin Jr., Martin, Amadieo; granddaughter, Elivira Garza; 6 brothers, Raymond, Victor, Clanto, Alejandro, Adolfero, and Leon Reyes; and sister, Ramona Gonzales.
