Alvino Martinez

** VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE BY CLICKING ON WEB LINK ABOVE ** Alvino Gutierrez Martinez, 92 of Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Dorsett Nursing Home in Spearfish, SD. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 15th, 2012 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, with Chaplain Randy Bradley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fourche. Alvino was born March 1, 1920 in Mexico City, Mexico to Margarito & Agustina Martinez, one of six children. At the age of 25 he arrived in Vale, SD as a field hand. He met and married his wife (Carmen Balderramos). He later worked in Belle Fourche, SD at the brick factory for 20 years then worked on construction until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, tending to his flowers and fishing. He and Carmen were married for 60 years until her passing in 2006. He is survived by his children, Alvino (Marvin) Martinez of Rapid City, SD, Stephanie (Zack) Pluimer of Belle Fourche, SD, Carmen Tagart of Rapid City, SD, Hope (Martin) Tobar of Rapid City, SD, Al and Jimmy of Colorado, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, sisters, brothers, mother and father.
