** TO VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE, CLICK WEBLINK ABOVE ** Joy Ribordy, age 67 of Belle Fourche, died suddenly on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital. The funeral service will be held 10:30 Saturday July 13th, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Belle Fourche, with Pastor Bob Duemig officiating. Visitation with the family present will take place 5 to 7pm Friday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, with a prayer service for the public at 7pm. Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fourche. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Sharon (Joy) was born July 22, 1945 in Madison, SD to her adoptive parents, Herman and Dorothy (Bigoren) Berglund. Joy was an only child and spent her childhood growing up in Belle Fourche. Joy attended and graduated from the Belle Fourche High School in 1963. It was in high school where she met the love of her life and soon-to-be husband, William George (Bill) Ribordy. After high school, Joy went on to attend Black Hills State University for a few semesters. Joy and Bill were united in marriage on February 14, 1965 in Belle Fourche. To this union two children were born: Renee and Ron. Joy and Bill enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Joy owned and operated Fast Break Sports with Cheri Nehl for several years. She was also very active with the Belle Fourche Fire Department Auxiliary. A natural born artist, Joy focused her time on her five grandchildren who meant the world to her. She enjoyed attending all of their events. Joy loved her family very much, and she will be greatly missed. Sharon is survived by her husband, Bill of Belle Fourche; son, Ron (Sonia) of Belle Fourche; daughter, Renee (Colin) Thompson of Whitewood; 5 grandchildren, Callie Huber (Aaron Wagner), Courtnie Huber, Troy Thompson, Ryan Ribordy, and Reese Ribordy; her mother-in-law, Gussie Ribordy; sister, Sharee (Marvin) Kindsfater; and her biological sisters, Sharon Bauman, Donna Likens, and Linda Nickerson, all of Washington state. She was preceded in death by her parents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
