Jackie Gunhammer

Lydia “Jackie” Gunhammer age 61 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday May 1st, 2014 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City. A memorial service will be held 11am Monday May 5th, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Belle Fourche.  There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Lydia “Jackie” Gunhammer was born January 3, 1953 in Belle Fourche.  She was the daughter of John and Lydia (Clairmont) Gunhammer.  Jackie grew up in Belle Fourche and her life was devoted to the care of people.  She worked as a nursing assistant for a time, but in time she provided needed care for two of her grandsons Adam and Casey for many years.  Jackie was very close to her sister, Virginia with whom she coached softball together in their younger years.  For the past twelve months, Jackie has lived in Milesville with her daughter’s family. Jackie is survived by her two grandsons, Adam and Casey of Sioux Falls; daughters, Sarah Gunhammer of Australia, Tonya Gunhammer of Nisland, Angela (Jess) Martin of Milesville SD; several other grandchildren: Bradley, Abigail, Grayson, Khalen, Eathan, Macy, Samantha, Joel, Trent, Megan; brother, Richard (Rhonda) Gunhammer of Interior; and nephews, Ron, Mike, and Dave Anderson, all of Belle Fourche. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Donald, Cleveland; sisters, Arlene Giroux, Virginia Gunhammer, Bernedine Teppo, and Betty Satchell.
