Louise Ager, (88 years old) of Moyie Springs, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her sleep December 28, 2008, while residing in the Boundary County Nursing Home, Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Louise had lived with her daughter Nadine and Fred Scharf since May 2004 until after a stroke November 25, 2008. Funeral Services will be held 10 am Friday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills, in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Pine Slope Cemetery, Belle Fourche. Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Born May 6, 1920 in Bradley, S.D., to K.J. and Lena (Nickolena) Karlson. Louise was raised on her parents homestead and attended school in Hoover and Newell, S.D. She married Reno Ager, July 29, 1938. Living for a short time in Deadwood, Coeur ’d Alene, and Spearfish, however, for over 38 years they lived in Belle Fourche, (moved to Walla Walla, Washington for 6 years), sold out, and moved back to Belle Fourche. Louise and Reno raised 11 children. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grand children, siblings, nieces and nephews. Louise spent much time sewing old fashioned quilts, and designing and sewing up ‘Crazy P. J’s’ for her grandchildren. She especially loved her flower beds and gardening, and for many years she enjoyed traveling across the U.S. to visit children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, K.J. & (Nickolena) Lena Karlson, and Husband, Reno Earl Ager. Siblings preceding her in death: Ingman Karlson and his wife Edna, Jenny Alexander and her husband John, Clara Floden and her husband Jens, Oscar Karlson and his wife Mabel Karl (who died as an infant), Elwood Karlson, Janice Summerfield, Dora Ager and her husband Grant, Kermitt Karlson, Victor Karlson, Cliff Karlson, Orliss Karlson; infant daughter, Shirley; infant grandson, Thomas; infant grandson, Charles; a ‘special’ granddaughter Sheri Sue; Grandson, John; Sons: Harry Dwayne Ager, John Let Ager and his wife Silvie; Daughters: Beverly Mae and infant Shirley. Survivors include Children: David Laverne and Stella Ager of Belle Fourche, Fred Reno and Arlene Ager of Belle Fourche, Carolyn Leone and Herman Kukes of Boulder, Montana, Mac Earl Ager of Moyie Springs, Idaho, Nadine Pearl and Fred Scharf of Moyie Springs, Idaho, Rose Ann Welch of Boise, Idaho, Kathryn Grace Falzerano of Basin, Montana, Nancy Lenore Fry of Boise, Idaho; Louise’s ‘Nother’ Son, Terry Emmerson of Troy, Montana; Siblings: Evelyn Holm of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, Esther and Ed Wierzbicki of Newell, South Dakota, Connie Harper of Kent, Washington, Jim and Bev Karlson of Nisland, South Dakota, Alfred and Dixie Karlson of San Bernardino, California. She is also survived by (35) grandchildren (52) great grandchildren and (25) great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered by numerous siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
