He was the son of Cecil and AnnaRose (Starkey) Crim. Cecil grew up in West Virginia and was a 1965 graduate of Grafton High School. Shortly after graduating, Cecil entered the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He served from 1965 to 1969. During his time in California, he met his wife in San Francisco. On June 3, 1967 he was united in marriage to Judy Carpenter in Sonoma, California. To this union two children were born: Steve and Kelli. Following their marriage, Cecil and Judy lived in California and in 1975 they settled in Sonoma. Cecil worked for many years as a pipe fitter welder for many area refineries and shipyards. He was a member of the Steamfitters Union Local 342. In 1996 Cecil retired and he and Judy moved to Belle Fourche where they have lived since. For the past 15 years he has worked as a truck driver, hauling mostly bentonite. This past January he fully retired to spend more time with his family as a result of his lung cancer. Cecil loved his motorcycle and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching them participate in their dance recitals, playing chess, and having conversations with them about their future. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed. Cecil is survived by his wife Judy of Belle Fourche; son, Steve (Tina) of Belle Fourche; daughter, Kelli (Jim) Ryan of Belle Fourche; brothers, Dorus (Vonnie) Crim of Martinsburg WV, Jim (Carolyn) Crim of Akron OH; sisters, Ethel (Howard) Riffle of Bridgeport WV, Margaret (Jim) Taylor of Bridgeport WV; 5 grandchildren, Emma and Sara Crim, Jake (Carrianne) Ryan, Michael Ryan, and Harmony Ryan.
