Dwight R. Bandy

Dwight R. Bandy age 58 of Belle Fourche died Monday April 13, 2009 at his home in Belle Fourche. The funeral service will be held 10:30 am Tuesday April 21st, 2009 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, with Rev. Del Neumeister officiating. Visitation will be held 4 to 7pm Monday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Interment will be held in Black Hills National Cemetery, rural Sturgis, with military honors provided by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard. Dwight Roy Bandy was born June 23, 1950 in Miles City, Montana. He was the son of Merle and Lela (Nehlich) Bandy. Dwight grew up near Broadus, Montana and later Belle Fourche where he graduated from high school in 1969. During the Vietnam War, Dwight served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1974. Following his service he was united in marriage to Cindy Geis in Spearfish. To this union their daughter, Shane was born. They were later divorced. Dwight worked with his dad digging water wells in the Belle Fourche area, but his dad died a young age in 1980. For the past several years, Dwight has worked for Hills Materials in Spearfish. He enjoyed working there very much. Dwight enjoyed fishing. He also was good at taking care of his mother whom he lived with and looked after. He will be greatly missed. Dwight is survived by his mother, Lela Bandy of Belle Fourche; daughter, Shane of Seattle WA; brothers, Doug of Spearfish, Don of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Dana Liggett of Belle Fourche; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
