* Video Tribute Can Be Viewed Below * Evelyn Kindsfater, age 88 of Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center. The funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 pm Friday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church. Evelyn LaVonne Fulton was born April 24, 1928 in Carthage, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Robert and Mabelle (Moe) Fulton. She was raised on the family farm east of town, graduating from the Carthage High School in 1946. Following high school, she attended the Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1949. Following graduation, she was employed at the John Burns Memorial Hospital in Belle Fourche. In the fall of 1950 Evelyn agreed to a blind date, where she met her future husband, Manuel Kindsfater. They were married March 25, 1951 in Belle Fourche. To this union two sons were born: John (Jack) and Alan. Following their marriage, they moved to the Kindsfater farm east of Belle Fourche, where they began their life together. Evelyn became a “stay at home mom” until 1973, at which time she went back to work at the Belle Fourche Senior Care Center. She retired from nursing in 1993. Evelyn was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche. For many years, she played the piano for Sunday services. She made sure her boys attended Sunday School whenever possible. Evelyn and Manuel owned two different mobile homes near Iron Creek Lake where they spent many weekends relaxing and playing games and visiting with family and friends. Manuel died in 2009, and in 2012 Evelyn moved from the farm to Palm’s Country View Eldercare. In 2016 she moved into the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center. Evelyn is survived by her sons, Jack (Kayla) of Aladdin WY, Alan (Mary Beth) of Belle Fourche; 6 grandchildren, Camille Smith, Eric Kindsfater, Amy Donaldson, Katy Kindsfater, David Kindsfater, Adam Kindsfater; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 nieces, Vicki Campbell and Sherri Donaldson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Manuel; sister, Roberta in 2013; and infant brother, Bob Jr.
