** VIDEO TRIBUTE CAN BE VIEWED BELOW ** Rose Fritz, age 96 of Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital. The funeral service will be held 10:30am Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 at the Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche. Visitation will take place 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Interment will be held in Pine Slope Cemetery. Rose Rodriquez was born August 29, 1920 in Lamar, Colorado. She was the daughter of Luis and Josephine (Frescas) Rodriquez. Rose grew up in Denver and at a young age she moved with her family to Belle Fourche. She lived in Lead for several years as well. On September 26, 1967 Rose was united in marriage to Harold Fritz in Belle Fourche. Following their marriage they ranched for many years near Albion, Montana. From 1973-1992, Rose was a preschool English teacher to migrant children. Harold died on June 12, 1994 and shortly after, Rose moved permanently into their house in Belle Fourche where she has lived since. Rose will be remembered for her independent spirit and her strength. She always enjoyed young people and she had a heart for kids. She enjoyed spending 5 winters in California. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Belle Fourche Senior Citizens Center, and she loved music and dancing. Trips to Deadwood on the bus were fun for Rose. She enjoyed having lunch there and playing a few games. She loved her grandchildren and was very happy that her seventh great grandchild is on the way in the near future. She will be missed greatly by her children and family. Rose is survived by her sons, Rick Franco of Lead, Vincent Gutierrez of Los Angeles CA; daughter, Renee (Ken) Macer of Cloverdale, CA; 6 grandchildren, Ariana, De, Leah, Brandon (Chris), Josh (Morgan), Desiree; 6 great grandchildren, Heaven, Katrina, Madeline, Sandy, Braden, and Patrick. She is also survived her nephew Eddie (Rosalie) Guerrero of Belle Fourche; and niece Jeanie Shavers of Belle Fourche. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Harold; and sister, Mary.
