** Video Tribute Can Be Viewed Below ** Scott Schumacher, age 53 of La Mesa CA, formerly Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 from natural causes, at his home in La Mesa. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fourche. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery with full military honors presented by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard and the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard. Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent de Paul, a Christian organization, to help others in need. Funeral arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Scott Anthony Schumacher was born October 25, 1963 in Pierre, South Dakota. At a young age, Scott moved with his family to Belle Fourche where he attended school, played on the football and wrestling teams, and graduated in 1982. After graduating from high school, Scott entered the U.S. Air Force where he served his country honorably for four years. During most of his service, he was stationed at the Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach Florida. In 1998. He was united in marriage to Lindie Agler in San Diego. To this union was born a daughter, Savannah. Following their marriage, they lived in San Diego for several years, and later divorced. Scott was a talented carpenter, especially when it came to dry walling. He was a fun-loving man who was loved by many people. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting. He loved and cherished his daughter Savannah and was very proud of her. Scott will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Scott is survived by his parents, Dennis and Linda of Belle Fourche; daughter, Savannah (and her mother Lindie) Schumacher of San Diego; sisters, Jody (Tom) Courtney of Alzada MT, Lori (Robb) Gibson of Boise ID; brother, Ben (Melanie) Schumacher of Rapid City. He is also survived by 7 nephews; 2 nieces; 12 cousins; 2 great nephews; 7 great nieces; 5 aunts, and 3 uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynn; grandparents; uncle, Kirby Burkert; Uncle Art Schumacher; and Aunt, Janet Sorenson.
