Mary Watts, age 74 of Belle Fourche, died Monday December 7, 2009 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center in Belle Fourche. Mary was born in Belle Fourche, SD on August 28, 1935. She was the daughter of Ira and Lois (Turner) Edlin. Mary grew up in Alzada, MT and Belle Fourche, SD. At the age of 5 her new father, Christy Watts, adopted her. Mary attended school in Belle Fourche and was part of the Class of ’54. In 1957, Mary was united to marriage to Steve Tyler. After their marriage they lived in Spain and traveled throughout Europe. They later divorced and in 1974, Mary married James Will and lived in Worland, WY and Belle Fourche, before getting divorced. For 10 years, Mary enjoyed living in Dallas, Texas and enjoyed working in the Christian Dior in Macy’s. In 2005 she returned to Belle Fourche and since has resided at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center. Mary is survived by her sons, Dean Tyler of St. Petersburg, FL, John Tyler of Dallas TX, Chris Tyler of Malibu, CA, Terry Tyler of Jakarta, Indonesia, Michael Tyler of St. Onge SD, James Will of Ketchikan, AK; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nephew, Dr. James Hess of Spearfish; 2 cousins, Verle (Bonnie) Pierce of Belle Fourche, Rudy (Barb) Wintermute of Aladdin, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers. Memorials are preferred to the Lois Watts Physiology Scholarship at BHSU. Friends and family of Mary are invited to a memorial remembrance at the Cowboy Back Bar on Monday December 14th, 2009 from 2-4pm. Her body has been bequeathed to the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.
