Helen Delatore was born October 1, 1917 in Walsenburg, Colorado. She was the daughter of Salvadore and Petra (Alcola) Delatore, who owned and operated a sugar beet and cattle farm near Vale, SD, from the early 1920’s to 1956 when they moved into Belle Fourche. On August 15 1934, Helen was married to Antonio “Tony” C. Fegueroa. To this union, 6 children were born: Albert, Isabelle, John, Joseph, Tony Jr., and Edward. Helen’s husband was employed with Black Hills Clay Products, and he retired in 1980 following 36 years of employment. Helen worked as a waitress for over 35 years, in various restaurants in Belle Fourche. Most people remember from Bob’s Café. Helen was an excellent cook and her thoughtfulness showed when people asked her to make enchiladas (hot or mild) for a special occasion, or if relatives were coming, or for just a little different thing to eat. Regardless how time consuming they were to make, their needs were always met. Helen enjoyed going to garage sales, auctions, and hardly any Bingo game was missed by her. For the past five years she had been a resident at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center. Helen is survived by her sons, Albert of Belle Fourche, John of Weswego LA , Joe (Sammie) of Belle Fourche, Tony Jr. of Rapid City, and Edward (Lorraine) of Olivet, Michigan; daughter, Isabelle Sager of Watertown; brother, Eddie (Maxine) Delatore of Michigan; sister, Beatrice Vodapich of Denver, Colorado; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
