Alfred Kasper

Alfred L. Kasper, age 87 of Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Monument Health Spearfish Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 10 am Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, with Pastor Rick Brennan officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Inurnment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery.

Alfred Lee Kasper was born January 2, 1934 in North Dakota, on the north side of Lemmon SD.  He was the son of Albert and Alice (Haugen) Kasper.  Alfred grew up on the family ranch near Lemmon.  In 1955 he was united in marriage to Linda Anderson.  Following their marriage, they lived in Minnesota and in Belle Fourche.  Alfred built roads and was a heavy equipment operator.  His job took him and the family all over the region.  Together, Alfred and Linda raised 6 daughters.  It always took a lot of work, but a lot of love as well.

Alfred was a cowboy at heart.  He started riding horses when he was just 3 years old.  He was very talented at building things and even restoring old RV’s and various vehicles.  He was rustic, old fashioned, and a determined man.  He loved his family very much, especially his wife whom he missed so much after her death in 2019.  Together they enjoyed 64 years of marriage.

Alfred is survived by his 3 daughters, Cheryl Stensby of Belle Fourche, Karen Davis of Belle Fourche, Laura Kasper of Belle Fourche; 11 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Steve Kasperek of St. Louis MO; and sister, Adeline Avelsgard of Sebeka MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; son, Michael Bernard; daughters, Vicki Stack, Melinda Blomberg, Elaine Buantillo; and several brothers and sisters.
