Anna Pauline Reitman was born November 22, 1964 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Harold and Verona (Watne) Reitman. Anna grew up near White, South Dakota and graduated from Deubrook High School in 1983. Prior to graduating, in 1982, Anna met the man she would marry in high school. Marlyn Pomrenke and Anna were united in marriage in Brookings, SD on November 8, 1985. To this union were born three children: Seth, Elijah, and Alanah. Following their marriage, Marlyn and Anna lived in San Antonio Texas while Marlyn served in the U.S. Air Force. Anna worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines for 12 years. Many memories were made during those years, including meeting several famous people and even trying on a Super Bowl ring one time. In 1990, Anna and Marlyn moved to Belle Fourche and in 1994 they moved to Salt Lake City UT. In 1999 they settled in Estelline SD, where they lived for 16 years. It was there that Anna opened up her own salon business. In 2015 they moved to Belle Fourche, where they have lived since.
Anna had many great traits that will always be remembered. Her greatest one was probably her big heart. She was always befriending people in need, whether it be high school students, or one of her many boyfriends over the age of 70 that needed a friend. Anna had a heart for lonely people. She cooked thousands of meals for them, whether they were young or old. She was caring, loving, and compassionate. She always fought for the underdogs who were picked on by others. People like that were the ones she would befriend. Cancer was a disease that she kept quite private. She fought it and persevered through the effects of it, but didn’t want people to worry about her these past couple years. Her faith was vital to her, and she loved to study the Word of God. She taught Bible studies for years, including her own family up until the past few days. She was proud of her children, and loved them so much. She loved her husband greatly was a dedicated wife and mother. She will be missed so much and she will always be remembered.
Anna is survived by her husband, Marlyn of Belle Fourche; daughter, Alanah of Belle Fourche; sons, Seth of Wall and Elijah of Madison; sisters, Natalie and Emily Reitman of Hendricks MN; and nephew, Dylan Johnson of Hendricks MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Caleb Olaf Pomrenke.
