Christi Durr

Christi Durr, age 55 of Belle Fourche, went home to heaven on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Hospice House in Rapid City, following a courageous fight against cancer.

A memorial service will be held 10:30am Monday, December 19^th, 2022 at the Spearfish United Church of Christ.  There will be no visitation.  Interment will be held in Pine Slope Cemetery.  Following the service lunch and a time of fellowship will be held at the Branding Iron. 

Funeral arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Christi Lynn Thomas was born October 31, 1967 in Rapid City.  She was the daughter of Kenneth and Loretta (Moran) Thomas.  Christi grew up in Belle Fourche where she graduated from high school in 1986.  She attended Black Hills State University and Mitchell Technical College, and graduated from Western Dakota Tech in 1988, with a degree in Office Management.  She was united in marriage to Darin Durr at the First Congregational United Church of Christ on August 25, 1990.  Following their marriage, they farmed near Belle Fourche.  For the past several years, Christi has worked at Hersrud’s of Belle Fourche. 

Christi loved her three cats very much.  She was the type of person who enjoyed life and people.  She enjoyed camping and going to the lake in the summer.  For the past 3 ½ years, Christi has battled AML Leukemia.  She was always a strong person, and showed great character throughout these past years.  She will be missed greatly by her friends and family.

Christi is survived by her husband, Darin of Belle Fourche; parents, Kenneth and Loretta Thomas of Belle Fourche; brother, Kenneth C. Thomas (Kathy) of Alaska; sister, Ronda Thomas of Belle Fourche; nephews, Cole and Seth Thomas; niece, Anna Thomas; brother-in-law, Eric Durr of Sturgis; and sister-in-law, Kristin Durr of Belle Fourche.
