Dale H. Ruby, age 67 of Belle Fourche, went home to heaven on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.  Surrounded by his loving family, Dale went home peacefully following a hemorrhagic stroke.

 

A Celebration of this life will take place 10:30am Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche.  Visitation will take place 5 to 7pm Wednesday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.  Inurnment will be held at Rosehill Cemetery in Spearfish.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.  They will be used to support local churches and missions.

 

Dale Ruby was born September 30, 1954 in Deadwood, South Dakota.  He was the son of Lyle and Willanore (Dunn) Ruby.  Dale grew up in Belle Fourche where he graduated from high school in 1973.  Dale received his Diesel Mechanics degree from the University of South Dakota when it was located in Springfield SD.  He graduated with honors in 1975.  On June 22, 1974 he was united in marriage to Lucille Kirksey in Belle Fourche.  To this union two children were born: Brandon and Amy.  Following their marriage, Dale and Lucy ranched with Lucy’s father for 11 years, west of Belle Fourche.  In 1986 they moved to Denver CO where Dale worked as a Dock Manager for two years for Denver Dry Goods.  In 1989 he became the Security and Maintenance Headman for Marilyn Hickey Ministries and Orchard Road Ministries.  He worked there for 18 years before moved back to Belle Fourche in 2006 where he assisted his son in his construction business for two years.  In 2008, Dale began work at Miss Kitty’s in Deadwood as the Heating and A/C Maintenance engineer.  Then in 2016 he began work at Knecht’s Home Center in Spearfish, where he has worked since.

 

Dale will be remembered for his faith.  To him, faith was all about his relationship with God.  He was a man of prayer.  Dale was also a lot of fun.  He had a great smile and laugh.  He was patient and strong, and loving.  His family was very important to him.  He enjoyed traveling and he participated with over 25 missions’ trips to various countries.  He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

 

Dale is survived by his wife, Lucy of Belle Fourche; son, Brandon (Gloriann) Ruby of Belle Fourche; daughter, Amy (AJ) Nagle of Denver CO; 4 grandchildren, Rebekah (Lucas) Trimble, Katelynn Ruby, Lainna Ruby, Rhoni Jane Ruby;  great granddaughter Raelynn Trimble; brother, Wayne (Zana) Ruby of Gillette WY;  sister, Cynthia (Chance) Davis of Belle Fourche; nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister.
