Douglas Merle Krause, 69, Carthage, Missouri, and formerly Belle Fourche SD, passed away January 25, 2022 at the Cox South Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri, with his sons, Beau and Garrett, by his side.
A memorial service will be held 10 am Monday, June 27, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Belle Fourche. Inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis. There will be no visitation. Military Honors will be provided by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Douglas Merle Krause was born December 15, 1952 in Belle Fourche. He was the son of Roger and Betty (Doak) Krause. Doug was a 1971 graduate of Belle Fourche High School, then attended Black Hills State College in South Dakota. Doug was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from April 27, 1972 to April 26, 1975. He married Diane Fergeson and to this union, one child, Beau, was born; they later divorced. He then married Lisa Sherron, and to this union another child, Garrett, was born. He was a mechanic, working on boilers, air compressors, wastewater, and refrigeration. Douglas enjoyed working, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Krause of Belle Fourche; two sons, Beau Douglas Krause (Crystal) of Carthage MO, and Garrett Krause of Joplin MO; three grandchildren, Kaden Douglas Krause, Jensen Krause, and Kennedi Krause; a brother, Dan Krause (Patricia) of Indio CA; a sister, Gloria Key of Belle Fourche; a nephew, Jason Douglas Krause (Tawni); a nephew, Michael Key (Tina); and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Krause; wife, Lisa Krause; and brother-in-law, Dave Key.
