Gwyn Halstead Jewett Jr. was born December 31, 1949 in Billings, Montana. He was the son of Gwyn Sr. and Jessie (Fletcher) Jewett. Hal grew up on the family ranch near Isabel, where he graduated from high school in 1968. Hal attended Black Hills State University for 1 ½ years. During the Vietnam War, Hal served his country in the U.S. Army from February of 1970 to August of 1971. Hal was united in marriage to Tammy Goldade on November 6, 1976. To this union two children were born: Ryan, and Todd.
Hal ranched until the early 1980’s and then he entered the grain elevator industry. For many years, Hal managed grain elevators until he retired. In his younger years, Hal enjoyed breaking horses and roping with his friends. Hunting and fishing with his boys was something special and in his later years he loved to go camping with friends and family. Hal was proud of his family and he loved his grandchildren so much. He will be greatly missed.
