Jerad Shoemaker, age 56 of Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Rolling Hills Healthcare Center.

A Memorial Service will be held 1pm Thursday, September 10, 2026 at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, with Ronda Mehrer officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place at Pine Slope Cemetery.

Jerad Ray Shoemaker was born June 27, 1970 in Desmet, South Dakota. He was the son of Curtis and Valeria (Johnson) Shoemaker. Jerad moved to Belle Fourche with his family in 1976 where he attended school. For several years he worked as a wool picker, and for R and P Cleaning, he was a window washer. In 2004 he moved to Watertown and in 2016 he came back to Belle Fourche. In 2023 he returned to Watertown and in 2025 he returned to Belle Fourche.

Jerad is survived by his parents, Curtis and Val Shoemaker of Spearfish; two brothers, Vincent (Lynsi) of Larkspur CO, Steven (Pam) of Georgetown TX; aunts and uncles, Larry and Mary Shoemaker of Belle Fourche, Ron and Bev Johnson of Vale; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his cousins, Kenny, Barb, and Kim Johnson; and uncle, Floyd Johnson.
