Joseph Keil

April 6, 1951 — February 18, 2022

Joseph David Keil was born April 6, 1951 in Belle Fourche.  He was the son of David and Kathleen (Hayes) Keil.  Joseph graduated from the Newell High School  in 1970, and attended college in Spearfish and Springfield, South Dakota.  After graduating from college, Joseph moved to Minneapolis, where he lived for several years.  After awhile the Minnesota winters made it desirable for Joe to find a warmer climate and he eventually moved to California.  For several years he lived there and worked as a Computer Systems Administrator for the City of Burbank.

Eventually Joseph retired and came back home to Belle Fourche, where he helped care for his mom for several years.

Joseph was a quiet, intelligent, and a private man.  He was loved so much by his family.  And he will be greatly missed.

Joseph died at his home in Belle Fourche with his loving brother and sister-in-law by his side.  He was almost 71 years old.  He is survived by his brothers, Mike (LindaJo) Keil of Belle Fourche, Pat Keil of Rapid City; sister, Kathy Webb of Rapid City; and 2 nieces, Gina Lax of Newcastle WY, and Amy Webb of Rapid City.  Joseph was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and his nephew, Dustin Keil.

A graveside service was held Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.  Arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.
