Judith Ann Carpenter was born April 7, 1947 in Sonoma, California. She was the daughter of Robert and Melba (McIntosh) Carpenter. Judy was born and raised in Sonoma, where she attended St. Francis Solano Catholic School. She graduated from Ursuline Catholic School in 1965. While in San Francisco she met the love of her life during “Fleet Week”, when the U.S. Navy ships docked.
Judy was married to Cecil Crim on June 3, 1967 in Sonoma, California. To this union two children were born: Steve and Kelli. Following their marriage, Cecil and Judy lived in California and in 1975 they settled in Sonoma. During these years Judy worked day care in her home and for 10 to 12 years she worked at the Hanna Boys Center. On July 1, 1996 they retired to Belle Fourche where they have lived since.
Judy will be remembered for how much she loved her family and how proud she was of her grandchildren. She loved to watch Harmony dance, and also the many conversations she had with Emma and Sara. She loved those visits. She enjoyed the July 4th fireworks and the drives she took with Cecil through the canyon. She loved her son and loved her daughter very much, and she loved being a new great grandmother when Theodore was born this past March. She enjoyed her animals too and she will be missed greatly by all her family.
Judy is survived by her children, Steve (Tina) Crim of Belle Fourche, Kelli (Jim) Ryan of Belle Fourche; 5 grandchildren, Emma (Jake) Thomas, and Sara Crim, Jake (Carrianne) Ryan, Michael Ryan, Harmony Ryan; great grandson, Theodore Allen Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil; and sister, Barbara Wilson.
