Loren Weishaar

Loren Weishaar, age 63 of Belle Fourche, died Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

Loren Adolph Weishaar was born June 24, 1962 in Mobridge, South Dakota. He was the son of Larry and Mary (Volk) Weishaar. Loren grew up on the family ranch near Sorum. He attended the Reva Country School, Rapid City Central High School, and earned a degree in electronics from Western Dakota Tech. On November 5, 1984, he was united in marriage to Shawna Viken in Watford City, North Dakota. Loren work for Sunshine Sanitation from 1989 to 1992 and for several years he was a crosswalk guard at South Park Elementary School in Belle Fourche. Loren also worked at Black Hills Special Services for 10 years, as their mechanic and as a school bus driver. Due to medical issues, he retired in 2013.

Loren loved his children and grandchildren very much. He was a special husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed.

Loren is survived by his wife, Shawna of Belle Fourche; 3 sons, Loren, Justin, and Andrew, all of Belle Fourche; 1 daughter, Ivory (William) Vane of Maine; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Larry Jr. (Cheryl) Weishaar of Oregon, Kevin (Sara0 Weishaar of Bison SD; 2 sisters, Maureen Milliron of Seattle WA, Laurel Robowski of Myrtle Beach SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
