Michael Mitchell, age 73 of Belle Fourche, died Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center in Sturgis.

Services will be held 2:30pm Monday, May 22, 2023 at Black Hills National Cemetery with full military honors by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard.  Arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills.

Michael Melvin Mitchell was born February 8, 1949 in Belle Fourche.  He was the son of Royal and Charla (Estes) Mitchell.  Michael graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1967 and was a 1979 graduate of Black Hills State University.  For many years he lived on the family ranch near Aladdin WY.  He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years during the Vietnam War.  He was honorably discharged in 1971. 

Michael is survived by his daughters, Jasmine Alexander of San Diego CA, Vanessa Mitchell of Ft. Worth Texas; 1 sister; and 2 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Royal and Charla Mitchell; brother, Roy; and sister, Madelyn.
