IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Naida
Keiry
September 18, 1930 – February 14, 2026
Naida Louise Keiry, age 95 of Nisland South Dakota, went home to Jesus on February 14, 2026.
A Celebration of her life will take place in May, at the Nisland Independant Community Church. When service times are set, this website will be updated immediately.
Memorials are preferred to Village Missions.
Born September 18, 1930 in Nisland, SD, Naida was third of five children to John and Rosa Bentz. She attended the Langdon country school and graduated from Nisland High School. Naida met Oliver William Keiry while attending Rockmont Bible College in Denver, Colorado. The couple were married on June 10, 1951, at the Nisland Church. To this union, four children were born. Bill and Naida lived in Colorado a few months, returned to this area, and worked for John Bentz Sr. two years.
They purchased a neighboring farm in 1954. The couple raised sheep and started their dairy in 1960. Naida loved the agricultural lifestyle: gardening, canning, preserving bountiful vegetables; raising chickens and feeding calves. She spent time in the kitchen cooking and baking for her growing family of four children.
The Keirys attended First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche for a number of years. Later on, they joined the Nisland Independent Church. Both were very active in
numerous positions. Naida was especially prone to kitchen help. A relationship with Jesus Christ and sharing Him was important to Naida.
Survivors include: Cheryl (Steven) Gilmore, Nisland; Stephen (Kela) Keiry, Nisland; Stewart (Barb) Keiry, Meeteetse, WY; son-in-law, David Hoag, Seward, NE; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, John Jr. and Laurence; two sisters, Faye Allen and Audrey Friedel; daughter, Christine Hoag; and granddaughter, Rebecca (Gilmore) Flood.
