Vonda McCarty-Zebroski, age 55 of Belle Fourche, died Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Hospice House in Rapid City, following a courageous fight against cancer.

The funeral service will be held 1pm Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held in Pine Slope Cemetery.

Vonda’s funeral will be broadcasted live online, on Vonda’s obituary page located on the funeral home’s website: www.LeveringtonFH.com

Vonda was born to Bessie (Kitto) and Gene Charles on April 4, 1966 in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Harmon Air Force Base.  The family moved back to the United States to the Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane WA on June 1, 1966 where they resided until they moved to Nogales, AZ in December, 1974.  In December 1978 the family moved to Hill City, SD where Vonda graduated high school in 1984.

Following high school graduation, Vonda began working in the food industry in Rapid City and eventually moved to Spearfish to continue her career.  While in Spearfish, she contributed to the opening of the new Applebee’s Restaurant.  She became part of a close knit Applebee’s family, aka “Apple Buddies”.    She then worked several years for NeighborWorks Dakota Home Resources in education and financing.  She was passionate about assisting individuals and families in obtaining their homes.

Vonda and Ronnie met in 2008 and married February 17, 2017.  She often said she married Ronnie because of his wonderful sisters! They started RV Catering which they’ve operated in western South Dakota and Lake Havasu City, AZ.  They had many adventures making great friends and memories along the way.

Vonda was a giver, and poured her heart into to her family and friends.  She had no “steps”; she believed all the children in their blended family were her own.  She touched the lives of many and made “forever friends”.

Vonda is survived by her husband, Ronnie Zebroski of Belle Fourche; father, Gene Charles of Rapid City; children:  Billy (Maggie) McCarty of Spearfish, Clyde Smoot of Gillette WY, Kayla McCarty of Whitewood, Megan (Tony) Exley of Gillette WY, Kristi Frey of Gillette WY, Logan Zebroski of Spearfish and Tator Dog Zebroski; 10 grandchildren:  Christian McCarty, Alaynia Sherrard, Annabella Sherrard, Landon Zebroski, Lillie Exley, Makayla Paule, Niya Frey, Randon Apala, Bently McGriff and Bridger Smoot.  She is survived by her two sisters Wanda (Jeff) Dale of Lake Havasu AZ, and Tammy Munguia of Pomona CA, many nieces and nephews, and an abundance of friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Charles.
