Mark Leverington has been a licensed funeral director since 1989 and carries over 30 years of experience in funeral service. He has a B.S. Degree from the University of Minnesota. He is the son of Ron and Jean Leverington, who live in Warren, Minnesota. Mark grew up playing hockey and camping in the Black Hills.
The Leverington’s became owners of Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in 2005 and continue to operate the funeral home with the highest ethical and professional standards. They are thankful to be a part of the community and are very active in community, church, and civic volunteer service. They are proud to be owners of one of the few family owned funeral homes remaining in South Dakota, and the Black Hills.
Mark is Past President of the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce, served on the Black Hills Roundup Board of Directors for more than 10 years, including as Chairman for 2 and Parade Chairman for 8. Often you will hear him on the radio as a sports broadcaster for the Belle Fourche Broncs boys and girls basketballs team. He’s been the Stadium Announcer for the Spearfish Sasquatch baseball team and the Belle Fourche High School football team. He looks for ways to support the community and has a heart for young people.
Mark became a funeral director for one reason; he cares about people and wants to make a difference in the lives of hurting people. Helping people say goodbye sums up his career. He is always looking for ways to improve and ideas to incorporate into his service. People see that reflected in all the areas of service that Mark and Deb provide. Making a difference in the life of a grieving family is what matters most to them.

Debra Leverington grew up near Lemmon, SD on the family ranch of Rolland and Jane Peterson. Deb graduated from Moorhead State University in 1988 with a B.S. Degree in Business Education. That same year she was married to Mark, and to this union four children were born. Now Mark and Deb have 7 grandchildren.
Deb brings more than 30 years of care-giving experience as she works side by side with her husband Mark. Her heart is always at home, but she also enjoys the caring ministry at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills. You will often see her singing at funerals and helping in many other ways.
