About Us

Mark Leverington has been a licensed funeral director since 1989 and carries 26 years of experience in funeral service. He has a B.S. Degree from the University of Minnesota.  He is the son of Ron and Jean Leverington, who live in Warren, Minnesota.

The Leverington’s became owners of Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in 2005 and continue to operate the funeral home with the highest ethical and professional standards. They are thankful to be a part of the Belle Fourche Community and are very active in community, church, and civic volunteer service.

Mark is a member of the Belle Fourche Lions Club; and is a Past (2008) President of the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce.

Mark loves spending time with his wife and 4 kids.  They can often be seen playing hockey together in the winter downtown on the ice skating rink, and playing basketball and football in their yard.  Taking care of their 3 horses and riding whenever possible is also something they love to do together.

Mark is a member of the Black Hills Roundup Board of Directors and he is a Past Chairman of the Black Hills Roundup (2012, 2013).  He has served at Parade Chairman for several years.

Mark became a funeral director for one reason; he cares about people. People see that reflected in all the areas of service that Mark and Deb provide. Making a difference in the life of a grieving family is what matters most to them.

Debra Leverington grew up near Lemmon, SD on the farm and ranch of Rolland and Jane Peterson. Deb graduated from Moorhead State University in 1988 with a B.S. Degree in Business Education. That same year she was married to Mark, and to this union four children were born.

Deb brings more than 25 years of care-giving experience as she works side by side with her husband Mark. Her heart is always at home, but she also enjoys the caring ministry at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills.
